Fashion can become inspiration for many things, including cake! Ombre has shown up all over in the fashion world. I thought this would make a perfect translation into cake. Here’s a mini baby shower cake I made using fashion as my inspiration.

I threw a surprise birthday party for my sister a little before her birthday, but I thought today (her real birthday) would be the perfect time to share her cake.

She’s my (free of charge) design consultant when it comes to cakes. Since the party was a surprise, I let her believe that I was making a cake for an order. In reality I just took what she said about colours and flowers and ran with it. She had no idea, and was TOTALLY surprised when she showed up at the party.

Twenty years since you’ve been born, I can’t believe it! Happy birthday to my one-and-only, most favourite sister in the whole wide world!
